Ex-Mayor O'Hare breaks silence, say he shouldn't have pushed immigration ordinance

Recently Mayor O'Hare, now living in Southlake, sat for an interview with WFAA's Teresa Woodard and reflected on his time as an elected official. We're pleased that he has come to agree with Branch Forum that the city has no role in immigration regulation. You'll want to read the interview yourself by clicking"Controversial former ..."

We must also point out that Mayor O'Hare was supported in his initiative to regulate immigration by many, most of them still living in the city and some still hoping to regulate immigration. An example of the latter is Brian Burns who circulated an email July 12 condemning Mayor O'Hare for being a traitor. We must be on guard against these folks and not allow them to disrupt the community and pursue a divisive, futile agenda.

It is the responsibility of Mayor and Council to not repeat past mistakes and instead aggressively pursue real revitalization.
